How to Enable Parametric Modeling in Fusion 360

Issue:

You would like to turn on the Parametric Modeling mode in Fusion 360

Related: 

• You imported a STEP file (or another file type) and do not see the parametric timeline.
• Parametric timeline is missing in Fusion 360.

Solution:

Right-click on the Top-Level component in the Browser > Select 'Capture Design History.'

Note: Change your preferences to start each new file with Parametric Modeling (Capture Design History) or Direct Modeling (Do Not Capture Design History).

Select your profile photo/intiials > Preferences > Design (tab) > change Design History setting.
